Small Groups

Presently on Hold

Small groups are a very good and welcoming place where we get together with friends in people’s homes to study God’s Word and pray for one another in a caring way. It’s also a place where we build lasting relationships and help each other to grow in Christ. It’s also a safe place to invite friends and people who are searching for a meaningful relationship with God.

Small groups meeting together was often used in the New Testament to reach out to people to help them in their journey with God and was also used as a method of making new disciples and assisting them to understand and connect with local churches.

Small groups has its roots in the Holy Scriptures. Jesus said “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matt 18:20). We also read in Rom 16:5 where the Apostle Paul says, “Greet also the church that meets at their house.” He further wrote to the Colossians and said, “Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house” (Col 4:15). From these Scriptures, it is evident that the early church met in believer’s homes.

In our small groups we discovered that an emphasis on God’s Word with other believers helps people move forward in Christ and also helps them with their personal relationship with Christ. Believers and guests are invited to join in either by listening or reading and then discussing God’s Word. This is also an effective time to help people understand God’s Word and see how it applies to their everyday life.

We will continue to introduce additional small groups as we move forward and grow.  The present attendance of the small groups varies from between 8 and 17 people.

Anyone who would like to learn more about God in a small group setting is welcome to attend. Just check with either of the Pastors or call or email the church office and we will provide you with details concerning locations and scheduled dates and times.
